The Generac RXSC100A3 is a 100-amp, single-phase automatic transfer switch designed for residential standby generator installations where the utility service entrance is not being replaced. Rated at 120/240V with open-transition switching, it manages the automatic transfer between utility and generator power for homes with a 100-amp or appropriately protected electrical service. Non-service entrance: what it means for your installation. A service entrance-rated transfer switch replaces or integrates directly with the main service disconnect at the point where utility power enters the home. A non-service entrance switch like this model installs downstream — after the main breaker — and manages load transfer within the distribution system. This configuration is common in retrofits where the existing service equipment remains in place. Because it does not replace the utility disconnect, this unit ships without a dead front panel. A licensed electrician determines the correct placement and configuration during installation. Transfer switch vs. interlock kit. An interlock kit physically prevents two breakers in your existing main panel from being on at the same time. A dedicated automatic transfer switch like this one is a separate, listed device under NEC Article 702 that provides fully automatic operation, code-compliant isolation, brownout detection, and a controller-managed transfer sequence — without any manual action required during an outage. Maximum capacity and wiring compatibility. At 100 amps on a 120/240V single-phase system, this switch supports up to 24,000 watts of combined load capacity. Terminal lugs accept conductors from #14 to 1/0 AWG (Cu/Al). The enclosure measures 17.2"H x 12.5"W x 7.1"D and weighs 20 lbs, allowing installation in tight utility areas adjacent to existing panels. Compatible with Generac generators using Evolution™ or Nexus™ controllers. Covered by a 5-year limited warranty backed by Generac's U.S.-based support team.

  • 100A NON-SERVICE ENTRANCE ATS FOR RESIDENTIAL STANDBY SYSTEMS: Rated at 100 amps on a 120/240V single-phase circuit, this ATS installs downstream of your existing main breaker to automatically manage backup power for essential home loads during utility outages
  • FULLY AUTOMATIC TRANSFER — ALL SENSING AND TIMING HANDLED BY THE GENERATOR CONTROLLER: Power monitoring, transfer commands, engine warmup, and cooldown sequences are managed automatically, so backup power activates within seconds of an outage without any manual steps
  • OPEN-TRANSITION SWITCHING PHYSICALLY BLOCKS UTILITY BACKFEED: The open-transition design disconnects utility power completely before connecting generator power, ensuring both sources are never live simultaneously and protecting utility workers and your equipment
  • BROWNOUT PROTECTION WITH HARDENED CONTROL MODULE: Integrated brownout detection monitors utility voltage and initiates generator transfer when voltage drops below 65%, preventing appliance damage from sustained low-voltage conditions before a full outage occurs
  • NEMA 3R ALUMINUM ENCLOSURE RATED FOR OUTDOOR INSTALLATION: The corrosion-resistant aluminum housing with electrostatically baked powder coat deflects rain, sleet, snow, and ice, allowing indoor or outdoor mounting at or near the electrical panel
  • COMPATIBLE WITH GENERAC EVOLUTION AND NEXUS CONTROLLER GENERATORS: Engineered for single-phase Generac Home Standby and Guardian generators using Evolution or Nexus controllers, with conductor lug range of #14 to 1/0 AWG (Cu/Al) for flexible wiring
  • PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION REQUIRED UNDER NEC ARTICLE 702: This switch must be installed by a licensed electrician in compliance with NEC 702 optional standby system requirements — select models include a fast-mount enclosure system that can save installers 30 or more minutes
  • WHAT'S INCLUDED: Generac RXSC100A3 100A non-service entrance automatic transfer switch, ETL-listed contactor, #14–1/0 AWG (Cu/Al) terminal lugs, and owner's manual — covered by a 5-year limited warranty with 24/7 U.S.-based support
